The older person may like you to take them on an outing occasionally, or perhaps a walk but most of them are happy to sit and have a cup of tea and a chat. Both the older person and the visitor enjoy the friendship that develops from this regular contact. If you like to chat with interesting folk and also have the patience to listen, this is the role for you!
You will need to be over 18 years of age and see this as a longer term commitment.
