Nataliya and Family - The Minister has responded

Simon O'Connor from Simon O'Connor - MP for Tamaki

This afternoon I was able to go down and share the response from the Minister to my original letter asking for a review of Nataliya and her family's case. A 12 month extension has been granted to the family with an opportunity to re-apply for residence. So, as I said to Nataliya and her husband, it is a step forward. I was pleased to deliver the letter in person; it is something I always try to do with immigration cases like this so that I can talk through what has been written and continue to offer assistance going forward when needed.

Can I also say thank you to all the locals who have supported the family and will continue to do so. Your letters of support were very important, and going forward, will be needed again.

Some news for locals in Glen Innes in particular, but for all of us who use Kiwibank and NZ Post services in Glen Innes Village.

Kiwibank is going to set up its own premises and NZ Post is looking for a local business to partner with (as they have done in St Heliers and elsewhere).

St Heliers Village - major road change proposals

Simon O'Connor from Simon O'Connor - MP for Tamaki

I suspect I am not going to be the only St Heliers' resident unhappy with this Auckland Transport proposal. Thirteen (13) new raised zebra crossings with the loss of around forty (40) car parks. See the attachment for some details.

I strongly suggest we all do!

Mission Bay - major road change proposals

Not to leave Mission Bay out! :) Plans are now online about proposed changes to Mission Bay roads. I have copied these from the AT website below. Please note, these are separate to suggested speed changes (that is, reducing the speed limit to 30 kms.)

Not to leave Mission Bay out! :) Plans are now online about proposed changes to Mission Bay roads. I have copied these from the AT website below. Please note, these are separate to suggested speed changes (that is, reducing the speed limit to 30 kms.)

- Nine new raised zebra crossings within the town centre. See map below for specific locations proposed.

- A new roundabout at the Tamaki Drive and Marau Crescent intersection.

- Improved shared path facilities and planted areas connecting the Tamaki Drive/ Selwyn Avenue intersection and Tamaki Drive/ Marau Crescent intersection.

- Removal of the flush median and widened shared path facilities on Tamaki Drive between Atkin Avenue and Selwyn Avenue.

- Intersection improvements on Patterson Avenue and Marau Crescent.

- Removing 34 public car park spaces on and surrounding Tamaki Drive to make room for the new pedestrian crossings. See below map for specific locations proposed.

As with the St Heliers changes, you can now submit feedback. The easiest is via the link below.
