As you might have seen a couple of days ago on Newshub, there was a piece on the shortage of knitted goods for babies in our hospitals, particularly for specialist care baby unit.

So with winter approaching, why don't we do our part as a community to support the cause and at the same time come together and meet other like-minded people, socialise, make connections and learn the craft from other knitters, in one of your local community centres.

We will have a small supply of resources to start with, but some help from the community would be hugely appreciated. This is a call out for any unwanted yarn, preferably wool, knitting needles and maybe a volunteer (preferably a knitter) who can support the running of the group? Looking at starting June/July 2018.

If you are able to donate any resources, please drop it off at the Ōrākei Community Centre, 156 Kepa Road, Ōrākei - Monday-Wednesday between 9am and 3pm, if you are interested in volunteering, please contact me on 021 892 435 or send me a message through this page or on the Ōrākei Community Centre Facebook page.
Thanking you all in advance for your support, Susan.
