TV3 The Project launch the 'Love Grace Handbag appeal"
In December 2018 Grace Millane was travelling New Zealand when she was tragically murdered on the eve of her 22nd birthday.
‘Love Grace’ is a charitable campaign set up in the UK by Grace’s family, combining her love of handbags with a legacy carried out in her name to end violence towards women.
The ‘Love Grace’ handbag appeal asks for donations of handbags filled with toiletries, luxury items and other essentials that will help women in need get to a safer future.
The Project will be coordinating the New Zealand arm of the appeal, working with Women's Refuge to make sure these end up in the hands of women here who need them most.Find a nice, clean handbag about 30cm in size (new or as-new)
Fill it with basic necessities and a couple of extra/luxury items from the below lists.
Optional: Take a photo of your handbag and post it on Instagram with the hashtag #LoveGraceNZ to encourage others to join in. In Te Aroha the For-get-me-not op shop has sorted handbags at the ready and all you have to do is pop in and then kindly fill one. Your drop off point is The Living Museum 109c Centennial Ave. Te Aroha 021 204 2633.. or if unable to deliver they will collect from you. Please share this amongst your family and friends and visit the TV3 website for further details. Thank you Angela and Bill Thompson.
