Moisture retention isn't the only benefit of mulching. It also keeps the ground at a more consistent temperature, suppresses weeds, encourages microbial growth and feeds your plants with organic matter all at the same time.

*Don't lay weed mat (mulch can do the same, and its lots better for the environment and your garden)
*Lay mulch at a minimum thickness of 100mm.
*Always spray/ weed (ensuring no weeds are present when laying mulch (This will help stop any existing regrowth of current weeds)
