My Kind Neighbour nomination

Greta from Stoke

I would like to nominate Estelle and Jayden on Willow Ave as they really look after my neighbour Mrs Roberts who is 99. Even though Estelle works pretty much full-time she is often over checking in on Eileen - making sure she is OK and that there is nothing she needs. She is often in her garden pulling out weeds and making sure things are neat and tidy. And what REALLY impresses me is that Jayden, Estelle's son goes over EVERY night to check everything is OK before Eileen goes to bed. I think they are TRULY AWESOME neighbours! Kindness in ACTION - Not just in words.

Poll: Could we live without public bins?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Many public rubbish bins are being removed by councils due to the large costs of regularly emptying them. Do you think we can adapt and live without them?

Type 'Not For Print' if you wish your comments to be excluded from the We Say You Say column of your local paper.

Hospice Shops- Nelson, Saxton & Richmond weekend volunteers needed

Krisca Gould from Nelson Tasman Hospice

We are in need of weekend volunteers at our 3 shops. Both the Nelson Shop and the Richmond Superstore have open shifts on Saturdays and the Saxton Op Shop has open shifts on Sundays. If you or someone you know enjoy retail, would like to help a good cause and meet new people this could be the volunteer role for you. We would love to hear from you! Please contact your local shop manager and let them know you saw this post on Neighbourly.
