Get Your Teenager Cooking!
Get your teens cooking at home these holidays!
It is important to encourage teenagers to make healthy food choices, especially during the school holidays when food plays an important part in their day. Regular, healthy meals provide nutrients, energy and sustenance, which means your teens feel fuller for longer, reducing their desire to snack on processed foods.
Teenagers are capable of cooking nutritious meals for themselves and the family. With support and encouragement, preparing homemade food can be an enjoyable and rewarding process, helping them to develop life skills and nurturing independence.
Make a meal plan, write a shopping list and take your teens with you to purchase the necessary ingredients, making it a learning and budgeting experience at the same time. It's a win-win situation for everyone! (Although it does require some effort, which your teens may be initially resistant to 😂)
Our friends at Beef + Lamb New Zealand have plenty of tasty recipes to help inspire your teens, like these Easy Mince recipes ... www.recipes.co.nz...
Saint Johns Butchery has a fabulous range of top quality meats to choose from and our friendly staff are always available to provide advice if it's needed. See you in store soon!
