Alberton Market Day THIS SUNDAY 09/12
Come along to experience Alberton's Sunday market in the garden featuring specialty produce and handmade items with music, garden workshops, artisan food stalls and a pop-up tearoom!
As well as seasonal fruit & veg there will be homemade preserves, pickles and jams, honey, gourmet sausages and cured meats, deli products, boutique olive oil, nuts, tea, kraut and kombutcha, coffee and Christmassy treats such as tarts, Christmas cake and gingerbread! Local makers will be selling handcrafted goods such as jewellery, candles, homewares, kids clothes, soap, beauty products and Christmas decorations.
Street food stalls will offer a tempting array of options for brunch or lunch and Alberton's volunteers will be serving tea and light English scones with cream and jam. From the vintage china of course!
For December's market the team from Community Fruit Harvesting are our special guests! They will be talking about the great work they do salvaging unwanted fruit around the city to make preserves for food banks, schools, refuges, the city mission and families in need.
Heritage Roses Auckland New Zealand will also have a stall and be able to answer all your rose related questions. Boutique plant nursery Puriri Lane are also coming with their gorgeous old-fashioned perennials and botanically inspired gift-ware.
There will be live music and children's crafts & face-painting to entertain the young ones. As with every market a HUGE hamper of goodies donated to by the stallholders up for grabs every month. Make any purchase to be in to win.
Shop small and local, handmade and homegrown for all your Christmas gifts this year!!! Bring the kids and the dog and enjoy the beautiful heritage setting of the garden.

Say goodbye to tyre waste
About 40% of the 6.5 million tyres Kiwis use every year are recycled, repurposed, or used as tyre-derived fuel. But the rest end up in landfills, stockpiled or dumped.
The good news is now there’s an easy solution to all that tyre waste. It’s called Tyrewise and is New Zealand’s first national tyre recycling scheme.
Tyrewise ensures that tyres in Aotearoa New Zealand are recycled or repurposed properly, saving millions from going to the landfill.
Find out more about the scheme online.
