Child snatched while selling lemons

Matt Bowen Reporter from Waikato Times

Morning neighbours,

Police are extremely concerned by an incident that unfolded in a leafy street in the suburb of Riverlea around 4pm on Friday.

A four-year-old girl and, it's understood, her older sister were selling lemons on McCracken Ave when the younger girl was abducted. Her sister ran to alert their mother who chased the car down the street.

Shortly after, the girl, thankfully, was pushed out.

The car, described as being a white four-door hatchback, then travelled from McCracken Ave on to Cambridge Rd south of the Burger King roundabout at Hillcrest.

Police would like to hear from anyone who has private CCTV cameras operating on their homes around the Cambridge Road area.
