Materials to fix a leaky roof for our Art recycling / Sustainable Living Centre
Our Trust Greenheart Hub has started an art recycling, sustainable living centre in Foxton, we have the perfect venue for operation at the Foxton Racecourse Tote Building, which has huge potential to extend what we offer. The building is currently sound but is not water tight. We have been fundraising and working hard with the community to get this venue ready to call our home. If we manage to get a new roof on this building, we would be able to extend minimising waste in a creative form, educate our community in sustainable practices, and in ways of being more self sufficient. Promote and increase skills in the Art and craft sector. Provide a community garden; where there would be hands on Horticultural education, providing fresh produce, compost, worm pee to our community. Provide social participation in many areas; bringing our community together to make positive changes. We have already started collecting donated goods to be used for creative purpose, running workshops, developed a group that is being taught how to recycle plastic bags into reusable goods. Imagine what we could do as a Trust if we had a bigger venue to operate from. We are calling on help to get the materials to replace the roof. We have many volunteers ready to be a workforce to complete this task under the guidance of Tradesmen. Shouting out for help to make this important community project come together. There is proven interest and huge support for this cause from the community. We need your help! Thanks for your time :)

Poll: Does the building consent process need to change?
We definitely need homes that are fit to live in but there are often frustrations when it comes to getting consent to modify your own home.
Do you think changes need made to the current process for building consent? Share your thoughts below.
