partial funding for Meadowbank Community Toy Library Librarian wages

Daniel from Saint Johns

We are in need of partial funding for our hardworking Librarian Wages.
We are a community Toy Library based in the basement of St Chads Church and provide educational toys to our members. Currently we have approx 95 families as members. We provide toys on a loan basis to our members. This helps our families who otherwise would not be able to afford the toys provided by our Toy Library. The only paid member of the Toy Library is the part time Librarian. We get partial funding for her wages from COG and the currently we are using our own funds to pay for the balance of the her wages. Our members are mostly from Meadowbank and surrounding surburbs. Members are on a roster as volunteers to assist the Librarian to keep the Toy Library open. Without our Librarian to organize all the work behind the scene we wouldn't be able to survive to provide this service. We have been providing Toys to families since 1999

Poll: Does the building consent process need to change?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

We definitely need homes that are fit to live in but there are often frustrations when it comes to getting consent to modify your own home.
Do you think changes need made to the current process for building consent? Share your thoughts below.

Type 'Not For Print' if you wish your comments to be excluded from the Conversations column of your local paper.

How does 9 days without your phone sound?

Eve from Eve Rudkin Mindfulness

Hi Neighbours, I was lucky enough to spend 9 days recently training in mindfulness - no phone, no news, almost no talk - just paying attention to my experience, at a peaceful off-grid centre in the Coromandel.

It was pretty amazing, but I don't suggest you try that length at first, what about starting with an hour?

Come and soothe body and mind with a small group for a gentle mindfulness session of ease and peace. The session includes gentle movement and relaxing simple meditation.

Next one is on Tue 7th of May 1 - 2.15pm, Meadowbank Community Centre. Come and see what it is like! Contact me - the first session free, then Koha welcome. 021 255 1485

Click Read More to find out more about what I do - I also offer one-on-one mental wellbeing sessions and custom courses for group bookings.
