ALERT!! Myrtle Rust on Manuka, Kanuka, Feijoa, Rata, Pohutukawa.....

Fairview Nursery

MRYTLE RUST ALERT!! Myrtle rust has been detected in Kerikeri in Northland, Waitara in Taranaki and Te Kuiti so far....

As a result of the detection of Myrtle Rust in New Zealand, Fairview Nursery in Kapiti has implemented a Myrtle Rust Nursery Management Protocol. At this stage we are applying preventative sprays on all myrtaceous plant species as well as all other stock grown on-site to reduce the risk of spreading Myrtle Rust if/when it appears in the Kapiti District. Plants brought in from outside suppliers will now be supplied with a Myrtle Rust Declaration stating protocols applied such as sprays, sterilisation etc.

At Fairview these sprays will be applied every 14 days and the name, spray ratio and dates applied are available on request.

We ask all of our customers to be vigilant for Mrytle Rust on their own trees and plants. For more information please visit the below website.
