I was in Pak n Sav Rangiora putting petrol in my car, got back into my car and parked up to get my groceries. A lovely lady shouted out my petrol screw had just fallen off my roof, and my tank lid was open still. that would of cost me a lot of money to replace, so whoever you were, thank you. When I went and did my groceries, I went to pay and my cash flow card wasn't in my wallet. I had to leave the groceries and I went back over to the fuel pumps to look for it but it was gone. I went home ready to ring the bank, but decided to just quickly ring Pak n Sav to see if anyone had handed it in, and much to my surprise they had!!! Thank you again to the kind stranger who did that for me. This was all Christmas Eve!!! Many times I have left my wallet at the Lotto, along with my purse and new tickets and have had a tap on the shoulder from the staff handing me my tickets and my purse, with money in it!!! Thank you to everyone who has had the kind heart to take time out to return whatever I put down, by mistake, its nice to know there are still honest and kind people out there. That's the bonus of living in a small town and I'm grateful.

Didn't disappoint. Staff friendly, even the chef came and spoke to us. He had time as only two other guests. PICCO EATERY has only been open two month. The premises have had a revamp as being closed for over a year so please go and support it. You will be pleased you did. Sorry I didnt take photos but check their website for more details

I set off towards Featherston with my jerry can, intending to stop and stick my thumb out at the next suitable pull over area. I rounded the corner and found a car already waiting for me and l was very grateful for a ride into town. On my return trip a had my thumb out for a couple of hundred metres when woman with 3 kids stopped for me. I chatted casually with her and the kids on the way up the hill, but the subject of their destination never arose. She deposited me back at my stranded car and l expressed my gratitude. I was, however, gobsmacked to see her then turn around and head back to Featherston. Seems she wasn't heading to the Hutt at all but just a local going about her local business. I shall never forget that act of kindness.

I was stunned! Didn't really need the money but it was a gift so didn't want to turn it down so I said thank you. With many horrible things going on in the world, we were grateful and delighted that someone could be so kind in our town. We then decided to pass on the gift by donating to charity.

Everyone has been really helpful on neighbourly with my random questions and requests for my new hobby business of dried flower designs, neighbours sharing the love and nice to meet a few of them!

I asked the shop assistant if I could come back tomorrow with the money and collect the groceries but that wasnt possible. While I was wondering what to do a young lady who I have never seen before said "I'll pay for your groceries'.
I was overwhelmed with her kind offer. She proceeded to take out her card and pay for them while I stood there amazed.
I managed to get her bank account number and reimbursed her online that evening, but her kindness is something I wont forget in a hurry.
May she be blessed abundantly for her thoughtfulness and generosity. What an amazing thing to do for a total stranger.

There are hundreds of beans ready to pick at the Glenview Community gardens. Corner of Tomin Road and Glenview Terrace.
Get them while they're tender.
We are suppose to get heaps of rain from this evening, so today is good!

"Dear Neighbour
Your efforts with Christmas decorations have brought amusement and smiles to a long-suffering family member of mine.
On that note, I say a big thank you for the priceless moment.
I am sure your decorations have brought merry and joy to the neighbourhood and a relief to a tough year.
PS: My family member does not know that I am writing to you.
Feel free to put this in your social media post. I would know if you put this in the Neighbourly website...
I typed this message otherwise my family would recognise my handwriting!
Maybe there will be something to look forward to same time next year!
Best wishes,
A Passing Neighbour."
I would like to say to the Dear person who wrote this message Thank you, you made my day and YES, I am, already preparing for next year and call it CHRISTMAS WONDERLAND.
I Wish all our Neighbours a HAPPY NEW YEAR may it be one that all your dreams will be met.
Regards

Did anyone else hear the town clock chime several times between 2.00am and 3.00am this morning.

I wish our neighbours and friends, a happy Christmas, and a safe New Year. We all deserve a pat on the back since our past year trying to avoid Covid19 and the potential spread.
