HELLO!
Well, it looks like we'll be in lockdown for a while yet. We know that this can be a real struggle for many, especially seniors who are isolated. We're here to help and support you, so please get in touch if you need help.
Don't forget - Spring is coming! I took this photo today at the bottom of our driveway. It's a reminder that lockdown won't last forever and that when life gets back to normal the warmer weather will be well on its way.
We have some new information in this eNews about getting free transport to your Covid-19 vaccination or Covid-19 test, plus news about which pharmacies around Wellington are offering a delivery service.
There's also an update on shopping services.
Thank you for sharing a few moments of your day with us. Stay safe everyone!

COVID-19 VACCINATONS AND TESTING
We are working in partnership with the Wellington City Council to offer free transport to seniors needing to get their Covid vaccination or to get a test. This can be via Driving Miss Daisy or Freedom Drivers.
If you live in the Wellington City area (up to Tawa/Linden in the north), then get in touch with us if:
- You're over 65
- You have a booking for a Covid-19 vaccination or need to get a Covid-19 test
- You have no one else to help you get to the vaccination or testing centre
Call Ann on 04 499 6648 and we'll arrange it for you.
A big thanks to the Wellington City Council for their support and funding for this service.

LOOKING AFTER YOUR MENTAL HEALTH
It’s normal to feel anxious or stressed in times of difficulty. Here's some tips of things you can do to take care of your mental health:
Stay connected
This is important for our wellbeing and helps to make us feel safer, less stressed and less anxious. We can support each other by keeping the connections and close ties to others that we forged during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Acknowledge your feelings
It’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, worried or scared. Reach out and talk with people you trust about your concerns and how you’re feeling or even write them down in a journal.
Stick to routines where possible
Try to go to sleep and wake up at the same time, eat at regular times, shower, change your clothes, and do your chores.
Exercise
Even just a stroll around the block can help you relax and have a positive impact on your thoughts.
Check in on other people who might need help
Reach out to those who you think may be feeling stressed or concerned, particularly those who live alone. It can benefit both you and the person receiving support.
If you are feeling anxious or just need someone to talk to call or text 1737

RECIPE
How about an Improbable Pie to brighten your day?
(Serves 2)
- 2 slices toast bread, buttered
- 1 cup cooked vegetables, chopped
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 cup milk
- salt and pepper
- 1/2 cup grated cheese
Cut bread into fingers and use to line a greased pie dish. Add the vegetables. Beat eggs, flour and milk together with a little salt and pepper. Pour over the vegetables. Sprinkle with cheese and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown and set. Remove from heat and allow to stand 5 minutes before service.
Recipe from Eatwell Plus. It sounds rather intriguing... We'd love to hear from you if it's any good!
