Hastings District Council has adopted the following three Draft Reserve Managements for public consultation:
A copy of each of the draft plans is available for reading on-site at public libraries in Hastings, and at Hastings District Council's customer services centre, Lyndon Road, Hastings or online here at www.myvoicemychoice.co.nz. Additionally, a copy of the draft Eskdale Plan is available to read on site at public libraries in Napier, and at the Hawke's Bay Regional Council reception, Dalton Street, Napier.
The Draft Management Plan is a high-level policy document rather than a detailed operational plan.
The Draft Management Plan identifies the vision, objectives, policies and development and enhancement priorities for the reserves over the next 10 years.
Developed with comprehensive input from reserve users and stakeholder groups, the Draft Management Plan provides Council with a clear framework for the day-today management and decision-making for the reserves.
The process aims to ensure that management and development of the reserves is based on sound principles and that, through consultation, the aspirations and requests of the community have been clearly identified and considered.
Later in the year, submissions on the draft plans will be presented to the councillors and mayor for consideration. Submitters will have the option of speaking on their submission to Council.
At the end of that process Council will deliberate on each of the plans and the submissions related to them and may request changes, after which the plans will be adopted.
