* 26 February, Monday - consultation starts on Environment Canterbury Regional Council Draft Long-Term Plan, ecan.govt.nz/your-region/plans-strategies-and-bylaws/long-term-plans/ - closing 26 March.
* 1 March, Thursday 1pm-2pm - "Volunteers - Who's Liable when Something Goes Wrong" at Community Law, 198 Montreal Street (entry off Walker Street, the room is booked from 12.30 if you want to come early and eat your lunch there. * 2 March, Friday 9.30am-11am - Simply Yoga with Dakota Blue, at Cashmere Presbyterian Church hall, Macmillan Ave - relaxation will be held at 10.50am, see notice below.

* Cashmere Gets Ready Community Lunch, 18 February - a successful local connection and resilience event was held, ahead of a momentous Cyclone Gita emergency / 22-2-2011 memorial week, outside the Presbyterian Centre with Red Cross and Cashmere/Port Hills Christchurch Community & Business Association support, as pictured below and by photo-essay here:

We hope to be able to expand this event and utilise Cashmere Green as advertised, in the near future, and we thank all participants for taking part in this very live test of the Cashmere Community Response Plan. * Hello. Firstly, I'd like to thank those that attended our first Simply Yoga and Stretch class. I really enjoyed meeting you and working with you.
I think we have a formula that will be successful. Following feedback from the first session I have made a slight change. I have combined the classes and formed a Simply Yoga and Stretch class and made the payment amount $15.00 per session for the hour and a half. The
classes will run from 9.30am and a relaxation will be held at 10.50am and we will finish at 11am. I do need to commit to booking and paying for the hall in advance so I need to ascertain this Friday how many regulars are willing to pay up to the end of the term. The term end is 13 April. There will be no class on Good Friday 30 March. So that makes 8 Friday classes until the end of term @$15.00 each which will be $120.00. Payment can be made via internet banking 38-9019-0178598-00. Account name is Dakota Blue and reference will be your initial and surname please, cheque or cash is also fine. I will receipt these payments. Space may become an issue so when we have the right amount for the room size which is likely to be 12 the class will be closed. This means that we will all progress at a
similar rate and form a cohesive group. I hope to see all who are able to return on Friday morning.

* Hackthorne / Dyers Pass Road intersection, considered dangerous for pedestrians and motorists - Spreydon-Cashmere Community Board await a staff report, to help decide future action. Please send us your experience of this junction. The Cashmere School view is that children have poor role models, in the way adults are having to walk around this unmanaged point, regarding road safety.
* Predator-Free Port Hills, Cashmere project - thank you to the Summit Road Society and all residents who have volunteered help with pest trapping. Further inquiries welcome where pests are encountered, via predatorfreecashmere@gmail.com - To participate in the project, please register and "Request membership" on the Pest Trap NZ, Cashmere GIS page trap.nz/project/251462/info noting what you'd like to do. Then contribute by adding data: trap type, location, bait & catches etc. Most of our traps have now been distributed but we hope to get more. Predator-Free Cashmere / NZ project info is held as a Community Notice on cashmere.org.nz home page. Thanks again for all help with this perennial challenge, particularly at fruit season.
