Aro Valley playground renewed!

Final touches to the new playground
As some of you might have seen, Aro Valley Playground has been renovated and after a few weeks of hard work, it has finally re-open for all the children and their families to come and enjoy!

The renew playground includes not only a brand new infrastructure but will also include an area for children to grow veggies, learn about plants, gardening, and looking after the environment.

Research project taking place at Aro

We have been very fortunate to secure funding from Wellington Community Trust to invest in a large scale research project covering the entire Aro Valley.
The aim of the research is for us to get a current and relevant overview of WHO is in Aro, WHAT needs and wants the community has from Aro Valley Community Centre and HOW we can improve our operations to serve Aro Valley better!

Keep an eye out for the survey leaflets which will be appearing in your letterboxes from next week – as well as the hard copy leaflets there is an option to complete the survey online, so it's never been easier for your voice to be heard! More information coming soon!

Please do fill out the survey so that we can have all the information needed to plan for the new decade and beyond at Aro Valley Community Centre!

Big hugs!

A new space for the Wairarapa Eco Farm CSA pick ups

It has already been a few years since Aro Valley Community Centre has been offering a Free drop-off service for the Wairarapa Eco Farm CSA and the community to deliver the veggies boxes at AVCC Hall. And thanks to the combined efforts (and to Rutger, one of the CSA members, Timebank member and his drill!), the members will now have access to a new facility to come and pick up their veggies.

This is a small family farm with an attitude!
For them, that means: ecologically sound, economically viable, socially just, humane and adaptable. They are Certified Organic and MORE! Growing healthy food, healthy soil and healthy people!

CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a partnership between the farm and the community. Members support the farm throughout the seasons, sharing the cost (to some extent) and the bounty alongside the farmers.
