Raising funds for a new start for an abused mum

$412 of $5,000 goal

To raise money for a close friend & her two young kids, who has just come out of an abusive relationship & lost everything.

Auckland

I am looking to raise some money for a close friend of mine who has been through a abusive hellish time in this last year, so she can make a new start & re-build her life back to some form of normality for her & her two young kids. At this point in time, she has no home, no car & very little money to survive on. I have helped her as much as I can, but that has only gotten her so far.

Her kids have been temporarily taken off her in what can only be described as a disgraceful act that was organised while she was in hospital recently with her sick baby & she was literally blindsided by people she trusted & is currently going through the courts with her lawyer to get them back.

She was pregnant & in love & thought she had finally found someone who would be good to her as a partner & a good father to their baby & her young child, but she was so very wrong & has managed to escape from that environment now, but at a price, the temporary loss of her kids.

As cliche as it sounds, I would love nothing more than for this to get 10,000 donations of $1, or 5,000 donations of $2, as I was hoping to raise around $10,000, just so she can re-locate back to Auckland & get her young family into a decent rental home, buy some basic furniture & a reliable/affordable car. Any money left over after that will go towards a school uniform & all that comes with putting a child back into primary school & daycare fees for her youngest child.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, any donation amount is greatly appreciated.

My friend & I flatted together for 7 & a half years. Over the years we lived together, I have become very close to her & her kids & just want to help her in any way I can to put her back on track to living a safe & happy life.

Use of funds

The money will be spent on re-locating back to Auckland to find a rental home for her & the kids, any basic furniture they may need, buying a reliable/affordable car, setting up her eldest child at primary school with uniform, shoes etc.

Goal achieved  28 January 2020

I, along with my very dear friend, would like to thank all of those that took the time to read & donate to my Give a Little page. Thanks to this page & other fundraising efforts, enough money has now been raised to see my friend through some very dark days & achieve the goal of finding a reliable vehicle for her & her young family to get around in. She is still awaiting an upcoming court date in mid February 2020 to get her 2 boys back under her care, which has been an extremely long & drawn out process, but we are all confident that on that date this difficult period will come to an end & their lives will keep moving forward in a positive way. Thank you all once again.
