Help us upgrade the cricket nets at Nairnville Park to provide a safe space for our local cricketers to train.
Wellington
The cricket nets at Nairnville Park are overdue for an upgrade and we are going to make it happen!
The cricket nets are used all year round by a wide variety of community members, young and old, serious and social, Onslow senior and junior club members and non members.
The Onslow Cricket Club owns the nets, not the Wellington City Council. The Onslow Junior Cricket Club (an affiliate of the Onslow Cricket Club and major user of the nets) has primary responsibility for net maintenance and has planned and costed repairs to the netting, astroturf and run-ups. This upgrade will benefit all net users and now it is time to secure the funds needed so we can be up and running for the coming season. OJCC has committed funds to the upgrade but further funding is needed as grant applications have been unsuccessful to date.
So, if you are a user of the nets yourself, have friends or family that do or just want to get behind a worthy community project, please give generously.
For a bit more information on who we are visit ojcc.org.nz and onslowcricket.nz
All raised funds will be used on the planned nets upgrade. Any surplus funds will be put towards other cricket facilities at Nairnville Park.
