Homemade Chicken Bone Broth

This homemade chicken bone broth forms the basis of so much home cooking.

Ingredients

  • Bones from 2 roast chickens
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1-2 tbsps apple cider vinegar
  • 1-2 carrots
  • 2 sticks celery
  • ½ red bell pepper
  • small bunch parsley
  • few spring thyme
  • salt & pepper
  • water

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients into a large stock pot and fill up with water.
  2. Slowly bring to the boil.
  3. Put on lid, turn heat to very low and simmer for 8-12 hours.
  4. Strain broth through a sieve and store in either fridge or freezer until needed.
