This page has been set up in order to help Corlan get his much needed Assistance Dog, to improve his quality of life.
Canterbury
My name is Corlan, I am 7 yrs old. I love Animals, my Family and playing Roblox. When I was 2 I was diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder). I have always struggled with meeting new people, socializing and doing some everyday things. It is hard for me to go places as I go into Sensory Overload very easily and just want to go back home. This makes me quite stressed and anxious. I really want to make friends and go places without feeling soo overwhelmed, and be part of the community.
When I was 2 I went on a waitlist for an Assistance Dog, it was a long wait, but we finally got matched with a dog called Rhys. Im soo excited, as Rhys will help me when I am anxious and will be right by my side when I need him. He will be able to come with me to the places I struggle with, so I can leave the house more and not feel so scared.
It costs a lot of money to have Rhys trained as an Assistance dog, so I need your help in raising the $20,000 needed so the amazing people at ADNZ (Assistance Dogs New Zealand) can train Rhys to suit my needs. Rhys is coming to live with me in September, so I need to start fundraising now.
Any donations go directly to ADNZ.
I can’t wait for Rhys to come live with me; we are going to have soo many adventures together. It’s going to be life changing, not just for me but for my whole family.
ADNZ (assistance dogs nz) are receiving these donations as it goes towards the training and dog itself, so my son can receive this dog in a few months.
