Our mission is building better communities:
We aim to provide women with the support and the tools they need to gain employment and financial independence so they can provide for their families and make a positive contribution.

Our Vision is every woman succeeding:
All women have an equal opportunity to gain employment, be strong role models and contribute to thriving communities.

 

Each client receives:

  • a wrap-around service so she feels confident and prepared for her job interview
  • a one-on-one consultation with a trained volunteer stylist providing a complete interview outfit, make-up, jewellery, styling and valuable confidence-boosting and job ready tips
  • access to programmes and resources that will enhance her job-seeking activities and opportunities via our Career Centre  Going Places programme – contact our Career Centre Manager on careers@dfsa.org.nz.

 

Each client who secures a job is eligible for:

  • a second dressing providing 3-5 mix and match outfits to cover a working week
  • long-term career support, mentoring and workshops to ensure she stays in the workforce via our Career Centre PWG programme – contact our Career Centre Manager on careers@dfsa.org.nz.
PROGRAMS
  • SuitingWe want you to feel your best while job searching and in the first few weeks of employment. Once you've scheduled an interview, obtain a referral to visit your local Dress for Success boutique. Our volunteers will work with you to help you choose an interview outfit and will also provide guidance and support for the upcoming interview.
  • Employment RetentionKeeping a job can be a challenge for anyone. These programs focus on helping you remain employed, providing you with strategies to nurture your professional growth. We want to ensure you feel more stable in your career and in your ability to develop your professional skills.
  • Career CentreThese programs address and eliminate the frustrating obstacles that may arise during a search for employment. Women meet regularly to support and encourage each other through building confidence, networking and discussing workplace-related topics. These meetings help participants stay motivated and optimistic.
