Sammaree Reserve Planting

Volunteers planting Sammaree Reserve in Kerikeri

Very agreeable weather encouraged around 40 volunteers out to plant the remaining area alongside Sammaree Reserve on Sunday (16 July).

On Saturday a smaller team transported the plants from The Shadehouse and laid them out ready for the volunteers and their spades. This preparation work enable the Sunday planting to be completed well within the allocated three hours.

Sunday's planting completed four years of planting along 500m of river esplanade from the Cobham Road bridge to the proposed site of a new footbridge that will cross the bridge allowing access to Campbell Lane.

Thanks to everyone who was able to make it.

The pictures below tell the story, including a few before and after shots of Sunday's planting site.
