Providing professional riding therapy to help those with disabilities.
Nelson / Tasman
Whakatu Riding for the Disabled is located at the The Brook, Nelson, where we provide professionally supervised and tailored riding programmes for the benefit of those with physical disabilities. Here, riders of all ages can benefit from the acknowledged therapeutic advantages of horse riding; building body strength, improving coordination, developing confidence and self-esteem, all while learning to ride and control a horse.
We depend on the generosity of foundations, businesses and individuals for funding and voluntary support to help us maintain the Centre, its twelve hectares of land, ten horses and three paid, professional staff. The staff monitor the progress of each rider and develop structured, individual programmes that will best help them improve.
The important work we do can only continue with your support and encouragement. Please make a donation, no matter how small, to help us keep and develop this great facility for all those who really need it.
Come and see what we do, just call us on 03 546 6366 to arrange a convenient day and time. You will be very welcome.
