Featherston Booktown Karukatea 2021 Festival

Featherston Booktown’s sixth ‘live’ Karukatea Festival is on from 6 – 9 May 2021. 

We’ll stop at nothing to celebrate the artefact of the book at our community festival and we will welcome all booklovers, young and old, from across Aotearoa New Zealand. 

In 2021 we have 55 stunning events and 99 amazing presenters starting with writers in schools for our region’s students on the two days before the weekend festivities begin. 

In the Anzac Hall on Saturday 8 May and Sunday 9 May we will have 23 booksellers selling a mixture of second-hand, antiquarian, self-published and new books. The presenters books will be for sale and you will have an opportunity to have your copies signed by them.

Featherston will be alive with books, markets, workshops, printing presses, stalls, treasure trails, food, coffee and fun!  Come and spend some time with us and be transported to a world of books, writing and ideas - there will be something for all the family!
