COVID-19 Important Information


​All of New Zealand will move to the traffic light settings at 11:59pm on Thursday 2 December 2021.
Auckland will move into Red.

Traffic light settings for the rest of New Zealand will be confirmed on 29 November.

Auckland Council COVID-19 Support


Auckland Council is helping individuals, families and households that are facing hardship.

If you are an individual, family or household where access to food for you or your family in isolation is of concern, please phone the Auckland Council contact line: 3010101.  The call staff can assist you to find the service you need.  The Council’s Welfare team contact phone number is: 0800 22 22 00.

Age Concern Auckland Emergency Response Services


Age Concern Auckland are coordinating essential support to those older adults who need it. 

The support they can provide is:

  • Shopping for and delivering essential groceries, including pet food
  • Delivery of face masks
  • Collection and delivery of essential prescriptions
  • Welfare calls for those who need a friendly chat

Upcoming Meetings:


Business Meeting via Skype
Tuesday 14th December, 2:00pm - 6:00pm


This meeting will only be accessible to active participants such as board members, staff and members of the public scheduled to present to the meeting.
However, the sessions with be recorded and uploaded to the DTLB Youtube channel when available.

Devonport Community Network Meeting
 

When: Thursday 2nd December, 10:00am

Where: Online via Zoom
While our regularly scheduled Community Network meeting can't go ahead in person due to lockdown, we have decided to offer our first online Zoom Community Network Meeting.

We have great speakers providing presentations, Paul Thompson and Alex Elton-Farr from Auckland Transport’s North Shore Community Engagement team followed by Amy Saunders, General Manager of Depot Artspace.

These meetings are a wonderful opportunity to stay up to date with the happenings of our community, as well as share your own news and projects.

Santa's Peninsula Tour 2021

 

When: Sunday 5th December, 11:00am

Where: Devonport - Belmont
Cost: Free

Covid-19 restrictions mean we can’t hold Devonport Santa Parade and Christmas Festival this year but Santa will be visiting a street near you in his sleigh to bring some cheer instead! 
Follow the map and approximate times to make sure you catch Santa’s Peninsula Tour.
Plus if we have moved to the Traffic Light Framework by then, Santa will also be at the Devonport Christmas Market on Devonport Wharf from approximately 12:30pm-1:30pm.
Make sure you pop along to the Devonport Christmas Market for Christmas goodies and gifts – 11am-3pm at Devonport Wharf.
(The market is traffic light system dependant. It will go ahead when the traffic light system is in place.)

Raumati Fun Tamariki Play (0-5)


We have now received confirmation that our Tamariki Play sessions will be able to commence at Stage Orange of the Covid-19 Protection Framework.

We can't wait to get back to playing in the park with your wonderful tamariki.

Kids Christmas Eve - A Very Noisy Christmas
 

When: Friday 24th December, 4:00pm

Where: Devonport Methodist Church Back Garden - 18 Owens Road, Devonport
Cost: Free

Devonport Methodist invites you to an outdoor Christmas Eve event. Join the mainly music team for a fun-filled time of music and dance, telling the story of Christmas. This will be followed by a sausage sizzle. Suitable for children of all ages.
Bring your own chair or picnic blanket.

Vaccine Pass required for those aged 12 and over.

Carols by Candlelight
 

When: Friday 24th December, 8:00pm

Where: Devonport Methodist Church Back Garden - 18 Owens Road, Devonport
Cost: Free
Come along for an outdoor service of carols and readings in the back garden at Devonport Methodist Church. Featuring handbells and a live band.  
Bring your own chair or picnic blanket.

Vaccine Pass required for all those aged 12 and over.
For those who can't attend in person, there will be a Zoom link available.

Music & Dance

Harmony Hall Reopening
 

When: From Friday 3rd December

Where: Harmony Hall, 4 Wynyard Street, Devonport
 

Harmony Hall is geared up to reopen it's doors when Auckland shifts to the Traffic Light Protection Framework.
As of the 3rd of December, events and gatherings will be able to recommence, at a limit of 100 people distanced 1m, mask wearing, signing in, and requiring participants provide a vaccine passport.

In an effort to help people re-establish social contacts, Harmony Hall will open up the front lounge Monday to Friday, 10am, for an hour or so, for a couple of weeks in December.
Feel free to come for a chat or a coffee or watch the news on the big screen in the front room.

Friday 3rd December will see the return of the live music open mike session.
This is open to the public and normally has about 25 to 30 people attending who listen and can get up to do an item if they feel so inclined.

Theatre & Film

Neville's Island - Cancelled

Company Theatre has had to make the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of Neville's Island season.
They were glad to have gotten in 3 splendid performances before the August season was interrupted, and while Neville's Island sadly won't be seen again this year, they will be packing away its set just in case there's a franchise reboot.
iTicket will shortly be contacting ticketholders to arrange a refund.

Health and Fitness

Devonport JETS Run
 

When: Wednesdays, 6:00pm, 20th October - 15th December

Where: Torpedo Bay Navy Museum
Cost: $6 adult, $5 child
The JETS Run returns for the Summer with a choice of 3km, 5km and 10km waterfront routes starting at the Torpedo Bay Navy Museum. Opportunity for both serious and casual runners to participate in a friendly gathering with a post-race sports drink & prizes.
Registration from 5.45pm every Wednesday.

The Open, Devonport Tennis Tournament

 

When: Monday 20th - Wednesday 22nd December, 8am - 5pm

Where: Ngataringa Tennis Club, 166 Calliope Road, Devonport

Back by popular demand, your favourite Tennis Plus coaching team is hosting the annual Devonport Pre-Christmas Open, at the Ngataringa Tennis Club, your local Club of the Year!

The adult & kids tennis tournament starts at 8am Monday 20 DECEMBER till 5pm Wednesday 22 DECEMBER 2021.

Multisport School Holiday Programme

 

When: 20 - 24 December 2021 and 24 - 28 January 2022,  9:00am - 12.30pm

Where: Ngataringa Tennis Club, 166 Calliope Road, Devonport
Cost: $35 daily or $150 weekly

Make fun plans for your kids during the summer school holidays!

Your local Tennis Plus coaching team will be running their ever popular Multisport Holiday Programme at the Ngataringa Tennis Club in Devonport. Lots of different games and fun sports each day, but also indoor activities for those wet days.

Everyone is welcome regardless of age and ability, the sanitised equipment is provided and the programme goes ahead rain or shine.

Devonport Anglican Op Shop in the Arcade

The Anglican Op Shop thanks all the wonderful customers who are returning to their shop now they are open again under Covid protocols.

In stock there is something for everyone - summer clothes and shoes, kitchen stuff, bric-a-brac, Christmas decorations and school uniforms for next year.

Their last trading day for the year is Thursday 23 December and they will open again on Monday 10 January.  

Hours: 
Monday - Friday 10am - 4pm 
Saturdays 10am - 3pm.

The Devonport Community House


The Devonport Community House are so excited to welcome everyone back when we move into the new COVID-19 Protection Framework. They are working hard behind the scenes to get everything ready so keep an eye on their Facebook page for updates - www.facebook.com/CommunityDevonport

Devonport Seed Library 

Devonport Seed Library is a free community initiative with the goal of enabling every person the opportunity to start a garden, without any financial barriers that might otherwise hinder them on their gardening journey.

The Seed Library will be housed in the Devonport Community House, and you are welcome to take what you need, then save some seeds from your own garden (or seed stash) to return back to the community.

If you have seeds, gardening books or ideas that you would like to share, they are gladly accepting donations.
