New Courts for Belfast Netball Club
Our current fundraising barely covers the cost of the equipment required. We need help to be able to provide safe facilities.
Canterbury
Belfast Netball Club is a large community based club, run by a small dedicated committee. We currently have approximately 245 registered players and expect this to continue to increase due to new subdivisions and the proposed addition of a second school site in the area. However, for us to be able to continue with the growth, we require adequate facilities for both our members and the wider community who also use the facilities. The netball courts are in dire need of replacement as they are currently a health and safety concern due to:
- flooding when it rains
- covered in slippery ice on frosty mornings
- slippery in the evenings when most teams drain due to night air dew and dampness
- one end of the 4 courts does not dry out at all due to the shade of the adjacent school buildings.
- cracks in the concrete
- holes for tennis net poles that are no longer used
Use of funds
The funds received will be used to replace the courts and LED lights to ensure adequate and safe facilities.
