Help us get a new 4WD vehicle so we can continue to save lives and property in Piha and the Waitakere Ranges.
Auckland
The Piha Volunteer Fire Brigade has been operational in Piha since 1974. For the past 45 years we've been putting out scrub fires, extinguishing house and property fires, attending motor vehicle accidents, and assisting with medical emergencies in the Piha community.
Our firefighters are entirely volunteers, who are professionally trained by Fire & Emergency NZ. Piha Volunteer Fire Brigade is a registered Charity.
Here's our problem. We regularly attend fires and incidents off sealed roads, up steep driveways, and on the beach. Our regular fire appliance is not able to access these difficult sites. Our previous trusty support vehicle, which had taken us to many incidents over several years, has been deemed unroadworthy due to rust, and taken off the road. We REALLY need a new one, and quickly.
Please help us raise funds for a new 4WD double-cab ute. This vehicle will transport firefighters and our gear to those sites that we just can't get to with a regular fire truck.
The Piha Volunteer Fire Brigade is comprised of local Piha residents, trained by and registered with Fire & Emergency NZ. We attend emergencies in Piha, and support our neighbouring brigades in Karekare and Waiatarua.
Funds donated will go towards the purchase and fit-out of a 4WD double cab ute suitable for transporting a crew of firefighters and firefighting equipment over rough terrain.
