A fresh take on MacBeth in a world where the powers play with lives like children play with dolls.

Pitt Street Theatre will create an immersive playground for its audience as they are invited to play games with witches and feast on cupcakes and cordial. This world of macabre childishness, puppets and toys, reflects how fate plays with MacBeth, and perhaps us all.

Shipwrecked, wrapped in thick fog and cut off from civilisation with one cold sausage between them, Gordon, Angus, Roy and the hapless Neville are about to experience the misadventure of their lives…

From the critically acclaimed Tim Firth, writer of Calendar Girls, this production of an award nominated West End comedy is the perfect entertainment for a Winter’s evening at the theatre.

Abbie Twiss – Monochromes

When: Opening: Saturday 11th September 2:00 - 4:00pm - 29th September

Where: Depot Artspace - 28 Clarence st, Devonport
Cost: Free

*Note: Lockdown will determine final dates*

This is Abbie Twiss’ first exhibition without colour, incorporating a range of early work and recent editions that sit on the periphery of her vibrant Pop Art-inspired practice.

Painted vignettes of early memories are reduced to a monochromatic palette here, like recollections in the mind’s eye that alter as the decades pass. Far from fading from view however, while the insignificant details of Abbie Twiss’ memories fall away, the key forms and emotions of a memory emerge in black and white.

Bobbie Gray – Insignificant Other

When: Opening: Saturday 25th September, 2:00 - 4:00pm - 13th October

Where: Depot Artspace - 28 Clarence st, Devonport
Cost: Free

Insignificant Other brings everyday life into art through magnifying borer ‘galleries’ found in the native timber floors of the artist’s home.

Poised between sculpture and painting, these hand-routed, human-scale engravings are traces of the vast, yet complex realities that lie beneath the surface of our own existence.

The works read as abstract paintings, yet the mark making delves beneath the surface, revealing physical depth. The lines left are evidence of life lived, in parallel with our own.
