Essential Services @ Taiwhenua

Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga will continue to deliver Essential Services during the COVID19 Alert Four Status lock-down period. 

The way that we deliver these services however, will be a little different.  We must do everything we can to ensure that personal interaction between staff and clients are minimised and that health, hygiene and safety is prioritised. This means that our offices are closed until further notice and we have strict protocols in place at our entry  gate.

Our kaimahi will be operating essential services as listed below from home where possible, these services are:
•Oranga Hinengaro
•Waiorua respite care
•Rangatahi Support – YP/YPP only
•Supreme Care - Home Support for Kaumātua
•Te Whare Huakina – Emergency and Transitional Rental Housing
•Te Whare Ahurutanga – Housing for Kaumātua
•Te Waireka – Residential Centre for Wāhine
•Te Whare Karamu – Teen Parent Residential
•Te Wairatahi – Contact Centre

Hauora Heretaunga Medical
We will only be seeing people in person where it is absolutely necessary. This will be arranged after a phone consultation with your doctor or nurse.

Hauora Niho Dental Services
Dental services will be provided for emergency services and relief of pain only, following a phone call with our dentist.

Taiwhenua Pharmacy
The pharmacy is open for collection of prescriptions and a delivery service for medications will operate until 2pm weekdays for those assessed as high risk.

Community Based Assessment Centre
The COVID19 assessment centre is up and running.  It is not a drop-in centre and anyone who turns up without an appointment will be turned away.

People with COVID-19 symptoms should phone Healthline  first on:
0800 358 5453 or your GP.

Immunisation:
Flu Vaccinations will operate as a drive-thru service.

Our Tamariki Ora nurses will be carrying out well-child checks and immunisations as a drive-thru service where available, we also have a room dedicated to well-child checks.
