Summer Fun Preschool Play

When: Tuesdays 9:30am-11:00am at Windsor Reserve, Devonport, Thursdays, 9:30am-11:00am at Bayswater Park, Bayswater
Cost: Free

A FREE fun time for preschoolers to play with big toys, be active and to make new friends. Bring your toddler and a coffee and enjoy our beautiful parks! Caregiver supervision is required and sessions are weather dependent. 
Starting Thursday 2nd November until Thursday 14th December 2017, resuming Tuesday 9th January until Thursday 29th March 2018.

Scotty Brewer Skate Day

Devonport community network meeting

A quarterly meeting to promote networking among residents and local community groups. All welcome and morning tea provided.

Talking Matters and Talking Trouble

North Shore Child Focus Group

Talking Matters and Talking Trouble Aotearoa NZ are involved in projects that have oral language at their centre and involve children, young people and families/whānau.

St Leo’s Catholic School Village Fair

Hauraki School Twilight Fair

When: Saturday 11 November 3:00pm - 8:00pm
Venue: Hauraki Primary School, 82 Jutland Road, Takapuna

A classic kiwi community fair. Lots of live music, food, drinks, white elephant, entertainment, kids games (including water walkers, vertical bungee, Old McDonald's Farm, bouncy castles, crafts and raffles. A large selection of silent auction items along with some great live auction items. All proceeds go towards future sporting facilities including a new swimming pool.

Kaitahi Bayswater Community Dinner

When: Wednesday 15 November, 5:30pm - 8:30pm
Venue: Belmont Park Bowling Club, 46 Roberts Ave Bayswater
Cost: Free

A people powered feast that is all about bringing the community together to share a meal made from rescued food.

Christmas in Devonport

Callout for volunteers

The Devonport Business Improvement District would like to set up a volunteer-run Christmas wrapping station in the pop-up Information Centre, ground floor, 3 Victoria Rd.
If you like listening to Christmas music, love to get into the Christmas spirit and enjoy participating in community activity during the festive season, then please do volunteer an hour or two of your time during a December weekend. Age Concern North Shore

Volunteers needed

Age Concern North Shore are currently looking for volunteers in the Devonport area to visit an older person for one hour a week, enough time for a cup of tea and a chat, which would make a huge difference in decreasing loneliness and social isolation. Devonport Museum

The Devonport Museum will be open longer hours for the summer starting Saturday 18 November. They will be open 12:00 noon - 4:00pm Saturdays and Sundays, and 10:00am - 12:00 noon Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Pop in and see their new look as seen on Heritage Rescue (Prime TV). Established in 1997 Voxnova has hosted musicians from all over the world who have left their traces on the repertoire. The programme consists of 50% Manouche (French Gypsy Jazz in the style of guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephan Grapelli) as well as the Flamenco the Rumba style made famous by French Roma musicians, The Gypsy Kings. An Evening with Tom Scott

The launch of his memoir 'Drawn Out' and auction

Considered one of New Zealand’s best cartoonists, Tom Scott is also a celebrated political columnist, non-fiction author and film maker. The start of November marks the launch of Tom Scott’s biography ‘Drawn Out - A Seriously Funny Memoir’ which is a hilarious, heartbreaking, heart-warming account of his incredible life thus far.
Head along for cocktails and canapes and hear from Tom Scott about his remarkable life. Funds raised from the evening in support of The Michael King Writers Centre and Devonport Rotary. VIP ticket includes wine and canapes plus a signed copy of Tom's book 'Drawn Out' and a goody bag.

Stephen McCurdy: Metanoia

Stephen McCurdy, award-winning composer for film and television in the 80s and 90s, has been painting for the past twenty years.

An exploration of female online identity, questioning how networked technologies influence women and the relationships women have with each other.

Craft Day at the Navy Museum

An exhibition dedicated to the art of retail. For two months the store will take over the gallery and provide a space for fashion designers, silversmiths, ceramicists, and other artisans to exhibit their talents.

Kids Create - Bravery

Children exhibit at the Navy Museum

Come and discover an exhibition with a difference at the Torpedo Bay Navy Museum. Children from Takapuna Primary School have created colourful, interactive mixed media displays. The children have been working with the Museum since term one to produce the exhibition; planning and producing their own responses to the themes of courage and bravery. Visit the exhibition, tour the Museum and enjoy a snack, brunch or lunch at the Torpedo Bay Café
