Te Pōkaitahi Reo Māori Courses
These Māori language courses are open to all learners with options for beginners through to intermediate and more advanced levels with full immersion options.
Graduates of these te reo Māori courses will obtain an understanding and awareness of te reo Māori that can be used amongst whānau, hapū, iwi and community as well as in employment.
These programmes provide a pathway to develop skills and knowledge to protect, maintain and enrich mātauranga taonga tuku iho - traditional knowledge, for current and future generations.
Te Pōkaitahi Reo (Rumaki, Reo Rua) (Te Kaupae 1)
An introductory reo Māori course to give you a basic understanding of te reo Māori to use in the community and employment.
Te Pōkaitahi Reo (Rumaki, Reo Rua) (Te Kaupae 2)
A level 2 programme to help you communicate with little support in familiar everyday contexts, and in Māori environments where you feel comfortable.
Te Pōkaitahi Reo (Rumaki, Reo Rua) (Te Kaupae 3)
A level 3 programme for learners who understand and use te reo at an intermediate-level. If you want to contribute positively to the development of te reo kia tika, kia rere, kia Māori, or have a personal and/or professional interest in te reo, then this level 3 programme is for you.
Te Pōkaitahi Reo (Rumaki, Reo Rua) (Te Kaupae 4)
This level 4 programme is intended for learners who understand and use te reo at an advanced-intermediate level.
Te Pōkaitahi Reo (Rumaki) (Te Kaupae 5)
This full immersion level 5 programme is intended for emerging speakers of te reo with an advanced understanding of the language and are able to use te reo kia tika, kia rere, kia Māori.
Te Pōkaitahi Reo (Rumaki) (Te Kaupae 6)
This full immersion level 6 programme is intended for competent speakers of te reo who have a desire to contribute positively to the development of te reo kia tika, kia rere, kia Māori
