With this anniversary comes a flood of memories of Peter and his family.
Peter was a pillar in the Newtown community and so supportive to the schools and staff involved with him and his children. He was an influence far beyond that of his role as Chairperson of the Board that still stands today in the memories of those who were privileged to enjoy his company and gentle guidance. He could face the tough questions with a skill that set blame to one side as he worked towards bringing people and ideas together in harmony. .
Peter took up Morris dancing and explained the sheer joy he found in being part of the group activity that brought smiles and happiness to so many, and the sheer light hardheartedness of what he described as being silly with a studied gift to the community. He just loved people and the reciprocity.
Such an disarming smile and energy with the deepest sincerity made the day for so many. Very sadly missed but so fondly remembered.
Thank you for the photos . They mean a lot

A family man and my condolences to the family.
Peter had an extraordinary presence and the reason for it was revealed when he spoke. Peter assumed very little of people and took them at their worth, communicated freely over a wide range of understandings without accepting responsibility for others. He was a powerful lubricant to problem solving and settling others disagreements in a warm and accepting atmosphere he was so good at creating.
Peter had a big heart and open friendliness and loyalty that made the world a richer place for those who knew him.
Vale Peter

I have only just learned of Peter’s death.
I did not know he had been ill, or not practising. The Peter Denee I knew was a hard-working lawyer and talented in so many other ways. He gave his very best to the practice of the law and his clients. A great linguist and very good song and dance man.
Nil desperandum carborundum.
