About Westfield Local Heroes

Westfield Local Heroes is a recognition and awards program that shines the spotlight on individuals in Australia and New Zealand who make a positive impact to their local community or environment.

Our Westfield team are in the process of assessing all nominations and will select three finalists per centre. Your finalists will be announced Tuesday 20 August.

In total, $AUD1.25 million is provided in community grants by Scentre Group, owner of Westfield destinations in Australia and New Zealand.

Community members nominate their heroes and we select three finalists for each Westfield destination to go through to the community vote. The successful hero for each of our 42 Westfield destinations is awarded a $20,000 grant for the organisation or group they represent, and each finalist receives a $5,000 grant for their organisation or group.

*Westfield Local Heroes grants are provided in Australian and New Zealand dollars. Total grants in 2024 worth $AUD1,248,300.

How we shine the spotlight on local hero finalists

Our Westfield teams assess all nominations and select three finalists per Westfield Centre to go through to a community vote.

The finalists and their work are showcased to more than 30,000 people via our digital channels, as well as reaching many more customers through our digital screens in-centre. They are also provided with marketing tools so they can share their story and invite community votes through their own networks.

Community members read about the impact the finalists have in the local area and cast their votes.
