Taranaki Youth Voice Application
Taranaki Youth Voice has 3 main goals:
1. To facilitate youth engagement in local, regional and national government.
2. To upskill young people so that they can take on governance/leadership roles in their communities.
3. To identify and create opportunities for young people to engage in civics, governance and politics in a constructive way.
Notes:
- Much of this is currently a work in progress. We expect youth DELEGATES to drive the project from this point onwards as youth representatives with guidance from other young Taranaki local leaders working within government and industry and youth "mentors" (18- 24yrs).
- Youth delegates will need to ensure they can attend monthly meetings / workshops / events to help build and grow TYV "for youth, by youth" around Taranaki
- Only up to 12 applicants will be selected as delegates to develop and run TYV but every other applicant will automatically be administered as a TYV MEMBER - TYV Members will be invited to special events, workshops and volunteering opportunities
- Coordinator, Elvisa Van Der Leden has been police vetted, works professional with children and youth and will be available to provide some transport with her personal car when necessary
