BAN WILDLIFE SANCTUARY FIREWORKS

Setting off fireworks in a wildlife sanctuary is madness and needs to be stopped

Despite multiple deaths when panicked birds flew blindly into traffic and others died of shock as fireworks erupted at the 2019 Christmas at the Park event, Napier City Council has given permission for a firework display to be included in this year’s Property Brokers Christmas at the Park event scheduled to be held on 4 December in Anderson Park, where there is a protected wildlife sanctuary.

See 2019 video:-

This display goes against the SPCA’s Position Statement on fireworks being set off in the vicinity of wildlife and is horribly callous because organisers are aware of the distress it will cause to the birdlife.

A private approach to NCC to stop the lunacy has failed, hence the petition.   Please help us at WatchDog and sign to stop the madness, save innocent wildlife from the terror and trauma of fireworks and let the Council, organiser the Kaisen Trust and Property Brokers know it’s not okay.
