Parnell Rises is group that has come together to express the purpose of protecting four old Oak trees on the corner of Ngahere Terrace & Cheshire Street.

These trees has been nominated for the protection (as notable trees) and are habitat for our native fauna, but developers are free to cut it down while council decides whether it should be scheduled as notable. 

They are on a developer's land and currently overdue to be cut down.

We are disturbed that in the wake of climate crisis, when Auckland Council has declared the climate emergency, people are free to cut down mature healthy trees as they wish. 

We ask the Auckland Council to enforce their own Urban Ngahere (forest) Strategy, and ensure that these important climate modifiers are protected.
