Visiting a library
- If you are unwell, please ask a friend or family member to collect library items for you, or contact us.
- If you have items to return, please hold onto these until you can visit us again. We no longer charge overdue fines, so don't worry about missing your due dates.
Remote library services
If you are self-isolating at home, the following services are available:
- online resources and
eCollections
- research and information services via phone or email. Please phone 09 377 0209 and ask to speak to a member of our research team, or submit your enquiry online using the
research enquiry form
- virtual help from a librarian through our book-a-librarian service. Phone 09 377 0209 or fill in our online book-a-librarian form
- reading suggestions and book lists on our website, check out the
new and recommended section
- virtual events and programming offered by some libraries, check our online events.
Mobile libraries and home delivery
Our mobile library teams continue to attend events and operate pop-ups in the community.
Our home delivery service is running. This service caters to people who are unable to visit a library due to mobility, access or other special circumstances.

CAB and JP services
Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) and Justice of the Peace (JP) services operate separately from Auckland Council Libraries. Please contact them directly for information about their available services.
