Tunes with Tina

I am a local musician who plays currently in two local bands, Teatree (acoustic indie-folk-rock) and Lemongrass (rock). My musical experience covers the genres of folk, classical, jazz and rock. I am offering my skills as a guitar teacher for children and adults.

From the age of twelve I was an assistant guitar teacher with old-time musician Tommy Kahi in Christchurch. I assisted him through until my University years when his brother Mark took over his teaching business.

My first band was formed in the early 90s and we focussed on original music. I wrote my first song at about age 9, and now favour playing my own original music, and that of my musician pals, over covers.

Music is something that has given me much pleasure through my childhood until now. I couldn't imagine my life without it. Being able to help someone else bring the magic of music into their life gives me much pleasure.
