Simon’s background includes a broad range of experiences from the commercial, public, and voluntary sectors. He was educated at the University of Auckland and earned several degrees, most recently a Masters of Political Studies in 2010, which he undertook while working full-time.

While serving the local community, Simon is Chair of the Foreign Affairs, Defence & Trade Select Committee and the National Party Spokesperson for Corrections.
