Glass can be placed in the green crate

Do not place rubbish bags in your wheelie bin.

We will not be holding anymore rubbish pop up sites as Morrinsville and Matamata Transfer Stations are reopen.

This week is Morrinsville’s recycling week.

Te Aroha and Matamata, your recycling week is next week.

If your recycling is already bagged in your wheelie bin, it will still be collected. But please ensure it’s loose for the next collection.

Next month we are making changes to plastic recycling - you can learn more in the link

Alert Level 2 will give most people the opportunity to get back to business, meaning we can leave our bubbles and reconnect with friends and family.

At Alert Level 2, Council services will return to business-not-quite-as-usual - with most of our services back up and running, but with lots of extra measures in place to track and stop the spread of COVID-19.

Follow the link for a preview of all the Council services including:
Swim Zone Matamata and Te Aroha
Libraries
Playgrounds
Te Aroha Mineral Spas
Firth Tower Estate and Museum
Te Aroha i-SITE Visitor Centre

These facilities will all be reopening on the coming days/weeks but with lots of extra measures in place to track and stop the spread of COVID-19. We understand these changes may be frustrating, but we're doing our best to offer our services under strict conditions. Please bear with us, be considerate to other customers, and be kind.

- All our Council offices will remain closed for the remainder of this week and will reopen Monday, 18 May.

Rates invoices will be sent to all ratepayers (who have not already paid the year’s rates in full) from 1 May.

We know the Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on many families in our district, but rates are important to keep our district running smoothly – like ensuring households have safe drinking water, wastewater is taken away, rubbish is collected, cemeteries are available, and Civil Defence are on hand.

You can find information on payment options at www.mpdc.govt.nz/rates/payment-options.

If you are struggling or already know that you aren’t going to be able to pay your rates, please call us on 0800 746 467 to discuss options.

Things are going be a little different this ANZAC Day. While we can’t come together as communities in the literal sense, we can stand together as one nation.
Everyone in our district is invited to participate in the RSA and New Zealand Defence Force Stand at Dawn event, to honour our Returned Service men and women and those who continue to serve.

Head to your mailbox at 6am on 25 April, or wherever you feel most comfortable to do so in your own space to commemorate ANZAC Day.

Mayor Ash Tanner will have a special ANZAC Day Facebook message for our communities at 10am, 25 April.

Please remember lockdown guidelines around physical distancing during this event and don’t burst your bubbles.
