About Hinterland Tours

Hinterland Tours started right here in Tauranga in 2001, providing small group multi-day tours for mainly seniors, throughout New Zealand. Kay, Rick and Brad Coleman [their son], built up a loyal following of repeat happy customers by offering a truly personal service and giving great value for money.

In June of 2020 the business was purchased by Mount Classic Tours Ltd, another local company started by owner Ian Holroyd here in Mount Maunganui also in 2001. Mount Classic Tours focused mainly on shore excursions for cruise visitors under their brand Shore Trips and Tours.

Hinterland Tours and Mount Classic Tours have been collaborating for many years, so it made obvious sense for Mount Classics to take over the Hinterland operation when Brad and his mother Kay decided it was time to relinquish the reins.

Hinterland Tours have continued with all the tours set up prior to the change of ownership and have completed four great trips to date. We have many more new and extended trips planned for 2021 and 2022 including day trips to shows and events.
